The Spello Flower Festival (Infiorate del Corpus Domini di Spello) is a vibrant annual event that takes place on the 9th Sunday after Easter in the picturesque town of Spello, Italy.
During this celebration, the streets of Spello’s historic center are adorned with stunning floral designs, transforming the town into a colorful and fragrant wonderland.
These floral tapestries are created by local residents and artisans who work tirelessly to design and arrange intricate patterns and religious representations using flower petals.
The festival culminates in a procession on Sunday morning, which is the best time to see the floral carpets before the crowds arrive. In addition to the breathtaking displays, visitors can enjoy live music, traditional food, and a range of cultural events.
The Spello Flower Festival attracts between 60,000 and 100,000 visitors each year. Due to the large crowds, accommodations in Spello may be limited during the event.

Dating back to the 18th century, the Spello Flower Festival is a cherished religious tradition that honors the Corpus Domini feast. The event has evolved over the years, attracting visitors from all over the world and growing in size and artistic quality.
The first Infiorate in Spello began in the early 1900s, when a local woman started the tradition of creating simple floral designs on the street. The practice quickly caught on, with residents challenging each other to create increasingly elaborate and beautiful works.
Today, the festival is a testament to the dedication and creativity of Spello’s residents, as well as a celebration of their shared history and cultural heritage.
